The Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) program unit of ISU Extension and Outreach plays an important role in providing research-based information and resources to engage Iowa’s farmers, landowners, natural resources stakeholders and agribusinesses in educational programs. The Business Administrator I provides executive level, collaborative administrative and financial support to the Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences/Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension and Outreach. Responsibilities of this position include screening and directing incoming communications, serving as an informational resource and performing investigative research to assist the Associate Dean in making administrative decisions related to both the College and Extension and Outreach.
In addition, the Business Administrator I provides administrative and financial support to the Assistant ANR Director, ANR campus staff, and 40+ field specialists as needed. This position manages program budgets and fiscal operations, including contracts and grants, while ensuring compliance with all processes and regulations. The Business Administrator I assists and advises the Associate Dean/ANR Director regarding financial policies, procedures, planning, personnel and reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills along with the ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be necessary to professionally communicate with university colleagues. The candidate will also demonstrate the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and discretion while working with confidential material and information on a daily basis.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
