The Chemical Product Quality Manager is responsible for managing and improving the product quality & reliability focused on Hach’s chemistry offering, along with sustaining metrics, and driving continuous improvement activities.

This position is part of the Quality and Regulatory department located in Ames, Iowa and will require working on-site to support a cross-functional team.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Work with cross-functional subject matter experts to own chemistry quality performance, drive improvement projects, and monitor sustainment metrics.

• Reports core-value-driver (CVD) chemistry metrics, daily reports, trending and analysis process for daily management activities.

• Leads an indirect team to progress improvement activities, manage action plans, and facilitate investigations.

• Design and develop experiments, analyze outputs using statistical models and tools to understand confidence and capabilities.

• Ensures timeliness of medical device complaints and associated metrics.

• Consult and engage cross-functional teams/departments on regulatory compliance, risk management, and business strategy.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related Science

• Experience : 5 years in chemistry design, synthesis or chemical manufacturing environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage diverse team and negotiate progress.

• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, statistical tools, visual management tools, data models)

• In depth knowledge of Statistical methods (descriptive stats, control charts, process capabilities, gauge R&R, etc)

• Results driven mindset to seek problems, identify plans, execute, and sustain goals.

• Strong technical writing skills to deliver concise executive summaries, develop leadership presentations, and clear email communications.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $97,000 - $130,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
