Job Description:

Iowa State University is seeking a dedicated and community-oriented Residence Hall Coordinator for Wilson Hall. This live-in position offers the opportunity to foster a vibrant residential community by managing student programs and addressing conduct issues while ensuring adherence to university policies. Active involvement in committee and department work is essential, as is a strong presence within the residential community.

In this role, you will enhance academic achievement by thoughtfully utilizing space and creating a supportive environment aligned with community living standards. You will guide students in navigating their academic and social transitions, providing advice and counseling to develop their academic and interpersonal skills. As part of your responsibilities, you'll interpret and enforce university policies while overseeing the conduct system, including handling disciplinary cases.

Collaboration is key, as you'll work with academic departments and build strong relationships with Learning Communities. Your role includes preparing reports on residence life operations and ensuring the community’s smooth operation during semester transitions and break periods. You'll coordinate with dining, custodial, maintenance, and facilities staff to maintain high-quality service and oversee repairs. Leading and supervising undergraduate Community Advisor staff is also a vital part of the job.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree and have experience in a leadership position within a college environment. Preferred qualifications include roles such as Resident or Graduate Assistant, engagement with academic initiatives, and expertise in staff supervision. Experience advising student organizations and managing crisis intervention is highly valued.

This position includes on-campus living in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit where pets are welcome. Level Guidelines
