St Patrick School Music Teacher in Anamosa, Iowa
St. Patrick Catholic School, located in Anamosa, IA. has an opening for a qualified Elementary Music teacher (General, Instrumental, Choir) for grades PreK3-6 for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will be able to play the piano in order to accompany students during Tuesday Mass, teach PK-6 curriculum to classes, and organize choir performances at school functions. Experience leading music for the Catholic Mass is preferred.
Job Duties-
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/lessons for primary and intermediate elementary school grade levels.
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. Patrick Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
- Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management
- Assess and document student progress.
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
Requirements-
- Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or Elementary Education from an Accredited College or University.
- Current Iowa Teaching Certificate or Letter of Eligibility in Music, (covering at least Grades K-6).
- Practicing Catholic preferred (but not required).
- Teaching experience preferred (bot not required).
- Previous experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred (but not required).
