Aerotek Maintenance Electrician in Ankeny, Iowa

Automation Specialist

Ankeny, IA

Fabrication and installation of control and electrical systems. Create and interpret electrical schematics. Assist with updating the electrical PM program. Collaborate with vendors for existing and new equipment. Program PLCs throughout the plant, specifically working with Allen-Bradley. Training available for those familiar with troubleshooting PLCs but not programming. Work on electrical systems ranging from 12v to 480v. Must have facilities expertise.

Job Description

  • Fabrication and installation of control and electrical systems

  • Electrical schematics

  • Assist with updating electrical PM program

  • Work with vendors for existing and new equipment

  • Program PLC's throughout the plant. Work with Allen-Bradley - will put individuals through schooling if they are not able to program but are familiar with troubleshooting PLC

  • Working on 12v - 480v

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have seen good success with 2 year robotics/automation degree but not required

  • 5 years of industrial maintenance experience

  • Must be able to train on both 1st and 2nd shift prior to moving to 3rd

  • Needs to be ok with stepping in as a supervisor when supervisor is out, will be go to person for near misses, machine calls, etc

Work Environment

  • Will work directly with automation tech members and the full maintenance team.

  • Required to wear hair and beard nets, helmets, hearing protection, safety glasses, and a smock while on the floor.

  • Shift: 10:30pm - 8am (somewhat flexible but needs to be consistent). - Will train on 1st and 2nd shift for a while

  • Tools are provided by the employer.
