Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons - DMOS MRI Coordinator in Ankeny, Iowa
Description
PERKS: DMOS is based in West Des Moines Iowa. DMOS Orthopaedic Centers offers our staff a work-life balance with generous levels of time off, competitive compensation and unmatched benefits, including affordable health, vision and dental insurance. Our competitive 401K/pension plan is a benefit that contributes to the future of our staff and their ability to live their best life.
Do I want this job? You will be working in the Ankeny location in the newly built MRI suite, and will be one of the first points of contact for MRI patients. You will have conversations with strangers face to face and on the phone who may be unfamiliar with MRI processes. You are an organized individual who can maintain accuracy with patient appointments, prior authorizations and provide frequent follow-up to external and internal parties regarding MRI orders, pre-authorizations and more. Once authorized, you will reach out to schedule MRI appointments. You will review eligibility and provide education to patients; you will schedule and coordinate insurance details for patients in need. You will gather and enter information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance and ask technologists about special needs (such as implant authorizations and MRI technical questions). You will help get the patient and team ready for the upcoming MRI appointment. You will work cohesively with DMOS IP Clinic, Prior Authorization Team, PACS and Medical Records Departments to ensure an accurate and efficient patient experience. Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful. You can work the hours for this position, your shift will be assigned and clinical hours would be Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM -6:00 PM.
Can I do this job? You must be able to be on the phone or sit at a desk for extended periods of time that may seem unnatural. You must have a high school diploma or GED. You have great typing and computer skills. You are a strong oral and written communicator. You can think on your feet and are an excellent multi-tasker. We will train entry level candidates with passion so don’t be deterred, although some knowledge of health insurance and pre-authorization is preferred. If you have a degree in health sciences and want to apply your knowledge to administration, this may be a good fit. You respect patient's privacy and use confidential information for patient care only. You can work Monday – Friday during assigned hours, and sometimes, stay late due to a patient delay.
