Part-time, PRN, Weekend Package
SUMMARY Assists in providing patient care under the supervision of professional nursing staff in accordance with Hospital policy by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Communicates with and keeps RN informed on unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
Records patient information regarding Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
Uses Meditech Information System to document patient information.
Assists in patient admission, including undressing, weighing and taking vital signs.
Informs RN and Unit Secretary of time of patient transfer and discharge.
Provides morning and evening care and other general care as necessary.
Performs treatments such as enemas, and peri care, following correct procedures.
Answers call lights promptly.
Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
Demonstrates professionalism and works cooperatively with others.
Attends 75% of unit and in-service meetings.
Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth.
Keeps patient unit clean and maintains safe working environment.
Assists in patient transfer and discharge, including sending personal belongings with patient.
Assists in orientation of new staff to position.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying
with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, families and other employees or the organization.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Completion of an approved nursing assistant training program and/or has appropriate past experience
Has successfully passed the competency and skills tests to be eligible for state registry.
BCLS certification within three months of employment.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 21 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and blood-borne pathogens. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
