Full-time, Part-time or Weekend Pkg - All Shifts
SUMMARY Provides routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by supervisory staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides daily nursing care and other services according to nursing standards of care and documents appropriately.
Assists with resident discharge, transfer or admission following established procedures.
Consults with and keeps staff nurse informed of change in resident's condition as soon as possible.
Anticipates and responds to resident's needs promptly.
Attends and participates in scheduled training and educational classes to maintain certification as a nursing assistant.
Maintains professional attitude and is able to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Maintains resident's rights to confidentiality, privacy, fair treatment and the right to refuse treatment.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
QUALIFICATIONS

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Current CNA certification in good standing or obtained within four months of employment.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the ability to handle difficult residents.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and rarely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before customers, patients, families and employees of the organization.

The employee may be subjected to frequent interruptions and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel and visitors.
