       TITLE: Technology Technician QUALIFICATIONS:A practical working knowledge of computers, both Windows and Macintoshoperating systemsExperience working as a team or independently, preferably in a K-12 school environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication skills REPORTS TO: Director of Technology POSITION GOAL: Provide technical assistance to the Director of Technology for all technology equipment. Provide on demand assistance and support for technology users in the district. You will be required to support education professionals, students and staff. The support will include but is not limited to gathering information needed for troubleshooting, utilizing problem solving skills to find a solution, implementing fixes, and proper documentation and communication to the client. The Technician is required to work with a self-directed and service oriented attitude. The Technician will be able to execute small projects on his/her own and work with Director of Technology in planning and executing larger projects. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance for audiovisual and computer equipment and peripherals.

  • Repair, when possible, or diagnose needed repair for all computer and electronic equipment.

  • Transport equipment or arrange for transport of equipment to and from outside repair facilities if unable to perform repairs in-house.

  • Perform periodic cleaning and diagnostic routines on computers located in all buildings.

  • Order and stock supplies and parts.

  • Maintain log of activities and repairs.

  • Unpack, inspect, test, mark, and inventory new equipment prior to delivery and/or installation.

  • Maintain repair records and histories of repair parts.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of network operating systems, WAN, LAN network functioning.

  • Assist with installation of new software and upgrades.

  • Assist teachers and principals in the evaluation of appropriate hardware and software.

  • Be knowledgeable of and abide by all school board policies, procedures and other applicable laws including copyright.

  • Work well with others, maintaining positive and effective communication with school personnel and students.

  • Contribute to creating a positive work environment.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting 100 pounds maximum; frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months a year. Salary to be set by the Board. EVALUATION: Annually. Job evaluation will be conducted in accordance with board policies Date of Approval/Review/Revision:February 27, 2007December 2022April 2024
