Your day to day as a COMMERCIAL TRUSS DESIGNER

As a Full-Time Commercial Truss Designer at Cascade Manufacturing Company, you will play a pivotal role in transforming commercial construction building plans into detailed cold-formed steel truss designs. Your primary responsibilities include reading and interpreting construction documents to create 3D truss framing plans using advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. You'll collaborate closely with internal sales staff, external contractors, architects, and structural engineers to develop comprehensive truss submittal packages for review by the building design team. Your expertise will extend to working with third-party engineering firms to create custom truss bracing plans and connection details, ensuring safe and structurally sound installations. Additionally, you'll generate bills of materials and manage purchase orders while providing crucial support during the installation process, addressing questions from framing contractors.

Knowledge and skills preferred for the position are:

  • A related associate or bachelor's degree is a plus but not required for this position. We will consider candidates with a relevant work history.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and/or hands on field experience
  • Strong math skills with a basic understanding of engineering / physics.
  • A toCAD experience
