The Co-Op student will be working from January 2025 - August 2025. Due to the nature of the products currently being manufactured by Viking Pump, we adhere to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In turn, we are only able to hire US Citizens or Permanent Residents.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Engineering team at Viking Pump Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a student co-op to work within our Engineering Department in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Student will participate in design projects to support Growth & Innovation and Global Distribution business Segments.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate on cross-functional project teams.

• Support New Product Development, Value Engineering, & Derivative Product projects.

• Assist with project research through simulations & documentation.

• Create and update models and drawings in SolidWorks.

• Maintain part numbers and Bills of Material in ERP system.

• Learn additive manufacturing and 3D scanning technology.

• Aid in Engineering calculations and documentation.

• Other engineering projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology or Industrial Technology.

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Major.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• CAD training w/SolidWorks experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENT:

• Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.

• Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

• General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
