Description We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team based in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. In this role, you will be performing a variety of clerical and accounting tasks in line with standard procedures. The role is crucial in maintaining a smooth operation within our general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts regularly

• Efficiently process customer payments and manage accounts payable and receivable

• Post relevant information and balance general or subsidiary ledgers

• Execute clerical duties such as recording, processing and reporting financial information

• Resolve any financial discrepancies and issues that may arise

• Compile segments of monthly closings and perform periodic reporting

• Adhere to and maintain knowledge of current accounting procedures and policies

• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses when required

• Collaborate with other departments and agencies to resolve problems

• Ensure all accounting functions are performed accurately and within the set deadlines. Requirements • Proficiency in reporting and procedures related to accounting

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analyses and provide insights

• Expertise in payment processing and reconciliation of bank accounts

• Familiarity with subsidiary ledgers and other accounting functions

• Proven ability to resolve accounting issues effectively and efficiently

• Understanding of market segmentation principles

• Experience in performing clerical duties within an accounting context

• Ability to handle monthly closings in a timely and accurate manner

• Capability to adapt to new software and technologies within the accounting field.
