Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role involves managing the company's payable account, ensuring all invoices, payments, and transactions are processed accurately and timely. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity, where you will be part of a team in the industry of financial services.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire process of managing the company's payable account, ensuring all invoices, payments, and transactions are processed, monitored, and recorded in a timely manner.

• Manage and carry out the full cycle of accounts payable functions including invoice processing, payment processing, record maintaining, and vendor reconciliation.

• Verify and reconcile invoices received for accuracy of charges, quantities ordered, and quantities received.

• Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries about invoice payments to maintain positive vendor relationships.

• Handle discrepancies and disputes with vendors in an effective and timely manner.

• Prepare weekly/monthly reports on accounts payable status.

• Perform internal audits to ensure the company’s financial accuracy and stability.

• Keep up to date with applicable federal, state, and company regulations, policies, and procedures for accounts payable.

• Utilize accounting software systems to manage accounts payable functions.

• Employ Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for financial tracking and reporting

Requirements

• Proficiency in account coding and understanding of accounting functions.

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) processes and accrual accounting principles.

• Experience with accounting software systems such as QuickBooks or an ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Ability to handle auditing tasks, automated clearing house (ACH) transactions, and purchase orders.

• Experience in managing vendor invoices, payable invoices, and monthly invoices.

• Skills in code invoices and batching processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.

• Ability to work on multiple tasks with attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills for effective coordination within the team.

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
