Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role involves managing customer payments, overseeing debt, and monitoring receipts and cash applications. This is a short term contract employment opportunity where you'll be tasked with ensuring accurate customer records and resolving any inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee customer accounts to identify any delayed payments or other irregularities
• Manage all tasks related to collecting payment from customers, including sending follow-ups and negotiating with clients
• Maintain accurate records and control reports regarding the status of customer accounts
• Engage in the processing of accounts and financial transactions, particularly accounts receivable
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries regarding their bills
• Prepare and distribute invoices, ensuring substantiating documentation is obtained and invoices are submitted for payment
• Monitor receipts and cash applications, keeping track of all outstanding debt
• Update account status records and collection efforts as necessary
• Prepare financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis
• Use skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Cash Applications, Cash Collections, Commercial Collections, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to perform tasks efficiently and effectively. Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Billing procedures
• Familiarity with Cash Applications
• Experience in Cash Collections
• Understanding of Commercial Collections
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with SAP software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
