We are seeking a Database Administrator to join a growing team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is a NEW role designed for the company needs and will report to the CIO. This role is at the intersection of large dataset industry and development, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the design, construction, and setup of the backend. As a Database Administrator/Engineer, you will serve as a crucial link between complex data sets and business applications, taking responsibility for project scoping, quality assurance, and a diverse range of data-related projects. Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and manage MySQL and SQL Database Systems.

• Collaborate with the development team and participate in the entire application lifecycle.

• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.

• Prepare and conduct database-related manipulations such as querying, performance tuning, and index setting.

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.

• Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets.

• Configure, monitor, and deploy databases, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Solve complex data-related problems using an analytical, rigorous, and methodical approach.

• Use your knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Data Warehousing, Design, ETL - Extract Transform Load, Flat File, MySQL Database, and Microsoft SQL for the development of complex databases and data queries.

• Utilize your skills in Data scalability, Load Balancer, Database Query, and Configuration Management Database (CMBD) for Database Development.

Requirements

Proven working experience as a Database Engineer.

Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau etc.), databases (SQL etc.) and application servers.

• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.

• Proficient in database management and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience with Configuration Management.

• Strong skills in Database Administration.

• Proven ability to design and implement strategies for data services and scalability.

• Familiarity with MySQL Database.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Experience with SQL Server management and query optimization.

Advance knowledge in data backup, recovery, security and integrity.

Proficient understanding of database structure principles.

Proficient in statistical analysis and data mining models.

Strong problem-solving skills, able to find and use rigorous methods to problem-solving.
