JOB Duties/Responsibilities

Coordinating and managing the Edgenuity Learning System for credit recovery in a variety of content areas including: Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Physical Education, and any other content area as needed under the supervision of the building principal.

Collaborate and consult with district program facilitators regarding course development

Supervise students

Work with students in group setting

Set up Edgenuity accounts for students

Assign Edgenuity courses to students

Manage the Edgenuity classroom w/o supervision

Maintain current lists of Edgenuity students, and monitor student progress weekly.

Communicate student progress on a regular basis with teachers and counselors

Send assignments to teachers to be graded

Communicate progress with parents

Collaborate with counselors on student behavior charts and plans

Collects data and records anecdotal student progress notes; maintains behavioral charting data as needed

Access to confidential student information

Ongoing training in Edgenuity courseware

Tutor and support students as needed in academic courses

Troubleshoot hardware and software problems

Take attendance in Infinite Campus

Monitor attendance policies for buildings

Participates in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned

Maintain appropriate interpersonal relations using tact, patience and courtesy.

Handle day-to-day operations and maintenance of Edgenuity Learning System hardware and software.

Advocate for At-Risk/ Learning Center students.

Maintain a schedule and monitor appropriate student use of computers.

Other duties as may be assigned.

PREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Excellent organizational skills.

Capable of representing the school and district in a professional manner.

Experience in using computer technology including computer network, preferred, but training in the specific operation of computer facilities will be provided.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive

relationship with them.

Interest in working with adolescents.

Certification in district Print Manager and Student Account Manager.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while supervising students and working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the classroom including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when supervising students outside of the classroom.
