ITC Holdings Engineer - SCADA (All Levels) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
JOB SUMMARY
Supports business objectives through the following specialty areas: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Telecom, Fiber Communication, Control Systems, Communication Systems, Cyber Security.
ESSENTIAL DUTEIS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs Substation SCADA systems and telecommunication systems.
Provides technical support to field personnel and contractors in the installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA systems, fiber optics, Ethernet networking and serial communication systems.
Self-motivated to learn and understand varying computer/control system architectures and software.
Collaborates with other engineers, departments and utilities to maintain project schedules.
Attends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills.
Maintain departmental databases relating to SCADA system documentation and fiber optic infrastructure.
Performs NERC CIP compliance activities for department assets.
Develops and maintain effective policies, procedures and work instructions.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
Minimum Experience:
No work experience required for an Associate Engineer level.
Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related area for an Intermediate Engineer level.
Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in related area for Senior Engineer level
Proficient knowledge of computer systems, operating systems and computer hardware.
Sound analytical, problem-solving, organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside of the Company.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to multi-task.
Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
Ability to learn and utilize job specific software.
