JOB GOAL:

Provide any assistance needed to organize, plan, and prepare the lab or the work-based learning job sites.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Assist with maintaining and organizing carpentry materials, tools, construction equipment housed in JH160 and related storage spaces. May also assist with inventory, planning and preparation for our ongoing work at work-based learning sites. Assist with ongoing lab projects.

The availability for this position can be daily, after class and Fridays.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep JH160 and construction classroom and lab space clean and organized.

  • Keep construction storage spaces clean and organized.

  • Perform general required maintenance of construction tools and equipment.

  • Assist with ongoing lab and storage space improvements.

  • Collect and catalog operator manuals for power tools and equipment.

  • Collect and maintain SDS catalog of hazardous materials.

  • Maintain current power tool inventory.

  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Must report for all scheduled work shifts, on time and ready to work.

  • Must be able to lift 25# regularly, and 75# occasionally.

  • Must be able to work in all seasonal weather conditions.

  • Must be able to record and maintain an ongoing list of work activities.

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite applications to process data and keep accurate records.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Micro-computer application competency is required.

  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office Suite applications.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Experience with construction power tools and equipment is preferred, but not required.
