Robert Half Payroll Clerk - Call Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Description

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Clerk/Timekeeper to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is primarily focused on supporting our internal and external customers, including employees, managers, leaders, and vendors/suppliers. As a Timekeeper you will be expected to handle inbound inquiries, maintain accurate records, and respond to various inquiries in accordance with existing policies and procedures. This position starts October 2024 and goes through January 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound inquiries through various channels including phone, portal, and emails, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.

• Use a Case Management Tool (ServiceNow) to intake and track customer requests.

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.

• Respond to both internal and external inquiries in accordance with existing policies and procedures.

• Reference Knowledge Articles/Content and apply them to inquiries to ensure adherence to existing policies and procedures.

• Educate requesters on appropriate self-service channels, resources, and information as needed.

• Use various systems and applications such as CRM, Workday, SharePoint, etc., to obtain information needed to respond to inquiries.

• Escalate situations that fall outside of existing policies and procedures when necessary to achieve mutually beneficial resolutions.

• Perform calculations, reviews, and data entry to support the labor process.

• Understand labor policies and Federal & State wage and hour laws.

• Share feedback and insight on employee experiences towards the goal of identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.

• Proficient in using timekeeping software.

• Experience using Workday and ServiceNow Platform.

• Previous experience in a Call Center Customer Service environment is a plus.

• Must have a strong understanding of payroll procedures.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
