Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

The Role: In this role, you will:

  • Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify and document hardware of moderate to high complexity for the GPS Weapons Hardware product line

  • Ensure proper packaging of systems to obtain optimal thermal and structural design

  • Lead mechanical design approaches and packaging techniques for the Navigation and Sensor Systems organization

  • Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture and analysis in area of domain expertise

  • Oversee and conduct root-cause-analysis and technical investigations for Navigation and Sensor Systems designs

  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, pre-qualification and qualification for products and sub-systems of moderate to high complexity

  • Provide assistance to creating technical road-maps, establishing best practices, and mentoring engineers

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline

  • Must have 8 years of experience working in Mechanical Design

  • Proficient in a 3D CAD solid modeling software package (SolidWorks and/or UG NX preferred)

  • Familiar with both thermal and structural testing and analysis

  • Experience with electronics packaging

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Must be capable of obtaining a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Prefer candidates with Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Mechanical design experience including experience with CAD, thermal and structural tools and supervision and guidance to mechanical drafting

  • Experience with FEA software package (ANSYS preferred)

  • Experience with military aerospace testing standards

  • Experience with plastics and potting materials

  • Familiar with 3D printing equipment and processes

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $102200 - $173700

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
