Are you big into Crypto? We’re not talking currency. Our Crypto team in the Assured Solutions Engineering directorate creates cutting edge embedded cryptographic capabilities for U.S. military communications products. We regularly work with the N.S.A. to ensure our military communications are secure and trustworthy.

Our team works alongside multiple hardware, FPGA and software teams in order to seamlessly embed our advanced technology into several different products all with the end goal of keeping our warfighters safe, secure, and bringing them home. This team gets to work on a wide variety of innovative products, with both new and existing products, so not your typical repetitive workload.

No, you do not need to come from a crypto background, this team will provide the tools and training to grow your skills & knowledge in cybersecurity and algorithms and how they play a role in all our products.

What YOU will do:

  • You will work in an exciting cross functional team that is currently collaborating with multiple teams across RTX businesses to create new and exciting mission critical products that will help us break into new markets.

  • You will get a chance to work with quantum resistant encryption and implement those algorithms into new and existing product lines.

  • You will be responsible for software development and integration on a multi-threaded embedded C++ product software code base.

  • You will support the design and development of embedded cryptographic solutions and communications products.

  • You will support project team activities related to the specification of requirements, software implementation, test case development, verification test execution and certification support.

  • You will help mentor software developers in technical and process-related areas.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Skills you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience integrating system hardware and software components.

  • Previous experience with software development using a high-level programming language such as (C/C++, C#, Python, Perl, Ada,)

Skills we value:

  • Exposure to Crypto system requirements capture, design formulation, crypto algorithms and their implementation and Integration of crypto system hardware and software components.

  • Previous experience with the development of software-based tools to support crypto system development, integration, and verification and Development of artifacts to support certification of crypto system and components.

  • Experience with Information Assurance and/or Cybersecurity industry standards of practice

  • Experience as a technical or project lead to ensure that project execution is successful.

  • Able to work at a system level understanding the designs and interactions of the system hardware and software components.

  • Excellent communication skills to communicate technical issues and status in both written and oral form to internal and external customers.

  • Adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
