Facilities Supervisors must strive to strengthen relationships, develop proactive workplace solutions, provide a balanced perspective, ensure minimal business interruption and safety policy compliance adherence. Integrity and trust are of the utmost importance in this crucial role as well as the ability to practice attentive and active listening. The ability to resolve conflict and work through complex facility projects are critical skills required for this role.

This role leads our 1st shift Facilities Services team.

This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What YOU Will Do:

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and model EHS rules and requirements.

  • Coach team members on difficult performance discussions, success plans and corrective actions

  • Manage and support a comprehensive preventative maintenance program; drive to closure ensuring compliance and actions are appropriately and professionally managed.

  • Work closely with the customer to ensure timeliness and satisfaction of the task/project.

  • Partner with facilities leadership to highlight efficiency gains, industry trends, concerns, and improvement recommendations.

  • Facilitate employee training to ensure all mandatory training is completed on time and identify needed training deficiencies among all direct reports.

  • Mentors with HR Representatives on HR responsibilities and policies

  • Scheduling and coordination of small jobs which can include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC etc.

  • Responsible for ordering of material, tools and equipment when needed and working within the F&S budget.

  • Mediate and resolve employee relations issues.

  • Ensures Corporate and site policies and procedures are communicated, adhered to, and understood by all employees.

  • Ensures that Labor and Employment law is followed, consulting with supervisor, senior personnel, or legal as needed.

  • This role will be expected to lead snow removal efforts as needed and are typically conducted on graveyard shift.

    What YOU Will Learn:

  • Cross-functional roles of other Facilities senior supervisors. This includes construction, building operations, and general maintenance.

  • Opportunities for mentorship within facilities or other SBU’s.

  • How to lead a diverse team engaged with different roles within facilities

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Required experience in facilities and or grounds/process management.

  • The willingness to be on call and work weekends on a rotational basis.

  • Ideal candidate will have experience with managing or working with or under a collective bargaining unit agreement.

  • Ideal candidates will have experience working with municipal inspectors.

  • Collaborative and team oriented

  • Decisive and action-oriented

  • Experience coaching and collaborating with multiple construction trades.

  • Experience with conflict resolution in the work environment and contract interpretation

  • Interpreting HR policies and consulting employees and leaders on policies

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
