Join the Mission Systems Airborne and Ground Communication Products Department and help shape, define, and design communication solutions that connect militaries worldwide!  As a Systems Engineer, you will design and develop military software-defined radio products covering all spectrum bands. You will play an integral role in developing the next generation of networking and non-networking software defined radio waveforms for existing and new communication platforms. You will interface with multi-discipline engineering teams to create total system solutions, addressing both domestic and international customer needs. 

We are looking for Systems Engineers interested in experiencing all elements of the communication design process including system-level trades, requirements development, communication system architecture and design, performance assessment, integration and test, verification, validation and support of fielded products. What You Will Do:

• YOU will perform analysis, architecture, and design at all levels of the total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal

• YOU will provide direct customer support for installation and integration of radio products deployed on airborne and ground-based platforms around the world

• YOU will act as the direct interface to capture customer requirements and operational concepts to be translated into a system architecture and design

• YOU will perform functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

• YOU will provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develop verification criteria and plans for the requirements

• YOU will research and evaluate investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization’s systems products and services

• YOU will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions

Qualifications You Must Have:

• ​​Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with Agile development methodologies as well as the scrum master and product owner roles.

• Experience with the execution of integration, verification and validation phases of a product.

• Experience with communicating between program stakeholders.

• Experience with tools such as DOORS, MATLAB, C++, and Python

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
