Cherokee Community School District HS Special Education Teacher in Cherokee, Iowa
Cherokee Washington High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with a range of disabilities and learning needs. You will work closely with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote student success.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective, differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities in a variety of classroom settings, including resource rooms, self-contained classrooms, and inclusive general education classrooms.
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure student growth and achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum, materials, and instructional techniques to support the inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education setting.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, behavior, and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other staff members regarding student progress, concerns, and strategies for supporting student success.
- Participate in meetings, professional development opportunities, and other activities related to special education and student support services.
