Job Summary

The Continuous Improvement Leader is charged with leading diverse teams to identify and solve opportunities within the manufacturing process which improve various metrics, including personal safety, process safety, food safety, cost, efficiency, and throughput. and profitability.

Essential Job Functions

  • Build a strong culture of continuous improvement and Root Cause Analysis

  • Evaluate and rank improvement ideas, develop improvement projects, and drive projects to a successful implementation.

  • Lead diverse teams of supervisors, operators, engineers, mechanics, and technical experts to evaluate the process and technical gaps of the plant, supporting them to structure and deliver improvement projects.

  • Engage department colleagues on Continuous improvement concepts, developing a more autonomous and knowledgeable operations team.

  • Lead and support root cause investigations into safety, mechanical, and process performance failures to develop meaningful and effective countermeasures.

  • Actively contribute to the development and successful implementation of SMS tools.

  • Communicate initiative progress and status, both verbally and in presentation-form, to multiple levels in the organization.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in a production environment of food processing or similar industry.

  • Demonstrated success in building/transforming CI within a manufacturing department.

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written, listening and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to configure and utilize or willingness to learn about databases, data structures, and cloud architectures.

  • Lifting or carrying of weights over 50 lbs is rare. Employees are encouraged to request assistance in lifting or carrying objects that weigh more than 50 lbs.
