Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Proofreader in CLIVE, Iowa. This role involves meticulous scrutiny of various documents and materials to detect and correct errors, and maintaining our company's style standards. The job function is especially suitable for individuals with a strong background in Proofreading and Mistake Proofing, and a familiarity with AP Style.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting thorough reviews of a variety of documents to identify and rectify grammatical, typographical, and stylistic errors.

• Ensuring adherence to the company's style guides and documented standards.

• Managing tight deadlines effectively to guarantee prompt delivery of tasks.

• Collaborating effectively with team members to facilitate smooth workflow.

• Utilizing strong interpersonal and written communication skills to address and resolve inquiries and challenges.

• Utilizing proofing skills to ensure the accuracy and consistency of documents.

• Implementing measures to avoid recurring errors and improve the quality of work.

• Providing feedback and suggestions to improve document quality.

• Assisting in the creation and maintenance of style guides.

• Ensuring documentation meets the company's standards and guidelines. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a proofreading role or similar position

• Proficiency in AP Style

• Demonstrated skills in proofreading and mistake proofing

• Experience with proofing tools and software

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred
