Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our fun and fast-paced process development team. We are looking for someone who has a passion for problem-solving, enjoys working with a creative and diverse group of people, and can take initiative to research and develop innovative processes!

This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Coralville, IA.

What You Will Do​

  • Manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility. Works autonomously with limited oversight. May provide input or guidance to lower-level professionals with tasks and assignments.

  • Works to influence parties within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Establishes the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.

  • Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings.

  • Plans the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.

  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

  • Perform defect and failure analysis.

  • Lead improvements in process yield, quality, cycle time, inventory accuracy and delivery

  • Report all manufacturing and/or quality problems with parts, equipment, etc. to the Process support and quality team.

  • Provides technical assistance and training support to floor and technicians.

  • Work with design engineering in developing new products that are optimized for the manufacturing process.

  • Provides technical interpretation of drawings and specifications.

  • Developing or improving current automation processes.

  • Working with other engineers to ensure quality of product.

  • Collaborating with production managers to understand operation needs.

  • Documenting and communicating issue related to product or equipment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
