Job Description

Assist Purchasing Agent by making routine and small purchase to include entering IET's, PO's, DO's and PRC documents into the Iowa Advantage System. Be familiar with cost centers, object codes, and organizational structures. Know the policies and procedures to do so. Answer questions from vendors about purchase orders and payments, contact vendors when staff have questions about purchase orders, check on the status of purchase orders, check on the status of purchase orders with vendor, relay any pertinent information to staff. Occasionally perform more advanced work in the absence of the Purchasing Agent. Provide Statistical date to Purchasing Agent and Business Manager as requested.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from high school or G.E.D. and experience equal to two years of full-time clerical work in purchasing, accounting, budgeting, or storekeeping;

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of accredited post high school education for each year of the required experience;

OR

employees withcurrentcontinuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of work as Clerk, Clerk Advanced, Clerk Specialist, Accounting Clerk 1, 2 and 3, or Storekeeper 1, 2 and 3.
