This Technician II is part of the Standard Desalt and Tubes Value Stream located in Coralville, IA, and works on-site. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.

Shift: Sunday - Tuesday, 7 PM - 7:30 AM

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Synthesize oligonucleotides (oligos) on various synthesizer platforms, cleave and deprotect oligos, quantify and sample oligos for quality control (QC) tests.

  • Attach modifications utilizing various techniques.

  • Use custom software packages to complete tasks and create final products.

  • Assess QC data accurately and make pass/fail decisions for oligos.

  • Keep thorough records of specialized processes in the oligo process history.

  • Prepare oligos for final shipment to customer or for further processing in other departments.

  • Perform decontamination on liquid handling instruments.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • U.S. High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination and experience required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science related field preferred.

  • 12 months lab experience required.

  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to accurately use SOPs/aids in safety minded production of oligos.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Ability to perform and transition through a variety of tasks with concurrent deadlines daily with urgency and efficiency while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
