    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Responsible for providing comprehensive counseling and support services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

    SCHEDULE AND PAY

    This is a full-time (40 hour) position. Clinic Hours are Monday – Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday 8AM – 5PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview.

    Salary range: $55,000-$60,000, depending on certification and experience.

    DUTIES

  • Conducts comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ substance use issues and mental health conditions

  • Acquires initial evaluations for clients seeking counseling services for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.

  • Identifies barriers to recovery, including poor social determinants of health, and develops strategies to address these barriers.

  • Works to remove barriers and improve social determinants of health that lead to reduced impairment and works to improve optimize functioning and outcomes.

  • Utilizes enhanced interviewing skills to obtain a detailed history of present substance use and mental health conditions during each session. Interview questions will require assessment, but not be limited to patient’s safety, suicidality and homicidally, abuse and neglect across the lifespan.

  • Provides evidence-based counseling and substance use counseling to patients who seek treatment.

  • Acquires and review patient records regarding diagnostic information relating to substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

  • Creates formulations after each initial assessment and identify corresponding diagnosis according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder-5

  • Develops with patient a comprehensive treatment plan, utilizing evidence-based interventions that work to reduce substance use and improve functioning

  • Will participate in reviewing and monitoring treatment plans on a quarterly basis for quality outcomes that are measured by reduction of impairment and optimized functioning.

  • Conducts group therapy sessions.

  • Maintains documentation for all consultation notes, significant incident occurrences, phone conversations, etc.

  • Completes documentation within 24 hours

  • Maintains documentation consistent with applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with billing practice and procedures as identified in the organization’s Billing Policy.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Iowa as a LADC.

  • Licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Iowa as an LMHC or LISW.

  • A minimum of two years of experience providing behavioral health therapy to individuals, families, and groups.
