Job Specifications

Responsible for the overall program management and compliance of Black Hills Energy's (BHE) Transmission and Storage Integrity Management Programs (TIMP and SIMP) for pipeline systems serving over 1,000,000 customers across a multi-state region. Lead a team of technical specialists in multiple states to ensure TIMP and SIMP programs are fully compliant and properly implemented. Responsible for updating the plans based upon PHMSA directives, AGA and industry best practices.

Salary Range:$110,900 - $183,100 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

Location:This position may be located in Denver, Colorado; Fayetteville, Arkansas; or Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Essential Functions:

• Lead, empower, and develop a team of technical specialists and engineers to best support pipeline safety and integrity.

• Take a leadership role in assessing the companies’ pipeline safety status and provide recommendations to senior leadership on an annual basis to build an industry leading pipeline safety program.

• Own integrity baseline assessment plan for multi-state regions and manage technical expertise availability for each assessment.

• Own pipeline integrity Preventative and Mitigative (P&M) measures across multiple states.

• Provide state and senior leadership with analysis of threats to the BHE system.

• Be a key team member in the budgetary planning process where it relates to pipeline integrity.

• Provide leadership to company corrosion control and manage corrosion technical specialists spread across multiple states.

• Perform all responsibilities in a safe and reliable manner.

• Monitor adherence to gas operations, and asset risk management plans.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist and support the other asset risk management activities within the department.

• Support safety, diversity, and social responsibility goals of the department, business unit, and corporation.

• Hire, lead, train, and develop a diverse and remote workforce.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

• 5 or more years of natural gas experience with knowledge of pipeline integrity required.

• 3-4 years of managerial experience with a remote team

• Demonstrated technical and operational expertise.

• Knowledge of DOT, PHMSA, AMSE, API and all codes associated with compressor station design and operation.

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

• Ability to lead a diverse team with competing needs.

• Ability to manage projects of varying scale simultaneously.

• Team player and demonstrated ability to effectively lead in such an environment.

• Demonstrate the ability to present and report analytical material in an easy-to-understand manner.
