Palmer College of Chiropractic is looking for an Admission Counselor I!
The Admissions Counselor I participates in developing, implementing and analyzing college and campus strategies for prospective student recruitment, engagement, admissions and matriculation advisement, external alumni and higher education relationship development, as well as external recruiting events and programs to achieve the College’s overall and campus specific recruitment and matriculation objectives.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Admissions and stakeholder department staff, participate in implementing the College’s prospective student and alumni recruitment programs and community and on-campus events (homecomings, campus visits and “Day in the Life” alumni programs)
Understand and communicate Palmer’s history, mission, vision, values, advantages, academic programs, financial aid opportunities, and college and campus activities, particularly as this information relates to enrollment
For assigned territories or populations, create and implement recruitment plans for campus, local, regional and college-wide territories, including program content, event and institutional visit itineraries, travel schedules, and budgets; prepare and submit for approval, expense reports and after-action reports
Execute recruitment strategies for homecomings, career day, and college fairs in the community and recruitment territory.
Travel to represent Palmer College of Chiropractic at university career fairs, high school college fairs, alumni and other stakeholder recruitment events, professional conventions, and other programs.
Understand and deliver recruiting presentations to prospective students and their families, alumni, feeder school administrators and counselors and faculty and other market populations
Interview and advise prospective students on academic entrance requirements, admission information and other personal matters related to the educational process
Maintain consistent communication with prospective students in an informed, professional, prompt and supportive manner
Review student applications and assist students with progression towards matriculation based on established criteria
Research and establish relationships with college and university administrators, advisors and faculty to identify presentation, collaboration and articulation agreement opportunities
Establish relationships with Palmer alumni in order to partner with them to execute recruitment strategies for prospective students. Identify alumni willing to mentor prospective students as part of the “Day in the Life” of a chiropractor and similar programs.
For assigned territories and population markets, enter into the Customer Relationship Management database, accurate and current tracking data about prospective student contacts, activities, inquiry conversion efforts, communications and other recruitment and admissions programs and initiatives
Prepare individual performance reports on admissions activities within the department’s operating goals and objectives. Adopt methods and procedures to enhance operations and results, as appropriate to the department and college
Participate in training and professional development opportunities as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field with three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Understands higher education student recruitment, admissions marketing, and enrollment management profession in a professional not-for-profit, degree granting environment
Well-developed presentation and relationship building capabilities in order to effectively communicate the value of a Chiropractic professional education
Ability to professionally represent Palmer College of Chiropractic at all times
Ability to travel as needed for recruitment events; work various hours as job requires, including occasional nights/weekend
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with prospective students, alumni and employees
Ability to Work independently, with goal-oriented initiative, and implement decisions and develop contingencies that focus on results and outcomes
Ability to communicate (written and orally) effectively
Ability to perform assigned duties with time pressures and frequent interruptions and maintain concentration for significant periods of time
Ability to use general office equipment, personal computers and various software programs
Desired Qualifications:
Related marketing or soft sales experience helpful
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Perform sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature-controlled office setting
Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift objects (up to 40 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday
