  • Oversee and supervise the Central Esports Program, cultivating and enforcing a positive community for all students

  • Must provide adequate supervision before, during and after practices/meets.

  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate with all stakeholders including but not limited to administration, staff, students and (potentially) booster club.

  • Good attendance and punctuality are necessary to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.

  • Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.

  • Provide and cultivate student leadership for Central’s Esports Programs

  • Serve as the Designated Esports Coordinator (DEC) with the Iowa High School Esports Association (IAHSEA) for Central High School

  • Maintain and recruit competitive teams in IAHSEA offered titles

  • Ensure all adherence to the membership requirements of the IAHSEA, including student, DEC, and school code of conducts, which includes student academic requirements for participation

  • Ensure transparent and consistent communication with the District Esports Program Coordinator

  • Cultivate community partnerships to fundraise for equipment upgrades or other expenses

  • Keep knowledgeable of trends and and best practices for esports programs

  • Participate in applicable training opportunities for school-based designated esports coordinators

  • Assist in growing esports at every level.

  • Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.

  • Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.

  • Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

    Special Qualification Desired:(Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)   

  • Proficient in use of digital tools, including game launchers, OBS, and Discord

  • Knowledgeable in the Iowa High School Esports Association offerings

  • Proven expertise at taking the initiative to accomplish projects

  • Either previous experiences with Esports Management in the scholastic space and/or K-12 coaching experience
