The 7th Judicial District’s Scott County Clerk’s Office has an immediate opening for a Judicial Specialist 2. We offer competitive pay, great benefits, and excellent hours. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. The office is open Monday through Friday, no night or weekend work.

The starting salary for new State of Iowa Judicial Branch employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The starting pay for this position is $18.59 per hour.

Hours:Monday – Friday 8:00A – 4:30P

Travel to other counties in Iowa may be required.

Under the direct supervision of the Clerk of Court or designee, candidates will have the desire to learn the complexities of our court case processing system using our statewide Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This position performs clerical tasks in maintaining and processing court records and materials as well as assisting customers with court related matters. This position may occasionally involve travel to other counties in the district.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.

Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience. Education cannot be substituted for customer service experience.
