VERA FRENCH COMM MENTAL HEALTH CTR PA Specialist in DAVENPORT, Iowa
JOIN OUR TEAM!
We are looking for a Medical Assistant to complete medication authorizations, assist with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services, and provide back-up to front MAs, TMS, and residential services. This position is great for Medical Assistants looking to expand their knowledge and make a difference in the mental health field!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Submit authorizations for drug refills to the pharmacy as directed and complete drug prior authorization forms as needed
- Complete Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) prior authorization forms as needed
- Prepare samples and document in record; contact patient as directed
- Retrieve information from medication line and forward information to Nurses' inbox, as backup if needed
- Assist with and operate the TMS equipment in accordance with training, certification and according to prescribed treatment
- May float to residential programs and provide direct support to residents
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- High school diploma required
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program
- Willing to complete TMS technical training for technician
- Previous mental health and medical management experience
- Knowledge of medical record documentation requirements
- Demonstrated computer skills, including but not limited to electronic medication and medical records data entry
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen
