POSITION SUMMARY

Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages, and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.

As the Warehouse Manager, you will directs the day-to-day activities of the Warehouse Department (almost 200 personnel) to ensure plant and Company performance objectives are achieved in the areas of: safety, customer satisfaction (on-time delivery, order completeness, shipment quality), cost efficiency, sanitation, productivity and operating efficiency, inventory accuracy, product quality/availability, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement strategy, policies, procedures, goals/objectives and measurement mechanisms to ensure successful attainment of the Warehouse Department, Plant and Company Blueprint for Success.

  • Monitor department performance and initiate action as appropriate. Ensure warehouse safety and sanitation meets Government, Company and GMP standards.

  • Hire, train, organize, direct, and motivate the managerial, clerical and hourly staff assigned to the Warehouse Department. Ensure Department personnel have the information and resources needed to successfully execute assigned responsibilities.

  • Develop, present and execute the Warehouse capital and operating budgets. Prepare correspondence, attend meetings, communicate and coordinate with department personnel, plant management, St. Louis staff, personnel at other plants, carriers and vendors to accomplish the department, plant and company mission and objectives.

  • Establish/maintain a personal level of communications with customers (retail and interplant), including periodic visits to key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Supply Chain, Business, or related field

  • 2+ years of warehouse management experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, transportation, military, or related environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $76,000 to $122,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
