Description
Robert Half Finance and Accounting is partnering with an American-made products manufacturer in search of Controller. This position is 100% onsite and located in Northern Iowa. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
As the Controller, you will oversee all financial aspects of manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, managing cost accounting, and ensuring accurate payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, with a focus on compliance, reporting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
Develop and manage cost accounting systems, analyzing manufacturing costs and variances.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting standards.
Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders.
Implement and enhance financial controls and processes to improve efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives.
Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment and at least 1-2 years as Controller
Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, accounting principles, and cost accounting.
Proven experience overseeing payroll processes and compliance.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Requirements
• Must hold a minimum of 5+ years experience and at least 1-2 years as Controller
• Solid understanding of accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and payroll.
• Proven experience in auditing and budget processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or related certification is preferred.
• Must demonstrate leadership skills and ability to oversee a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
