Principal Financial Group Apprentice 1 - Sales Compensation Admin Associate in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

This role is part of our Apprentice Program and is an education-focused entry to a career at Principal by developing apprentices toward specific business needs. As an Apprentice 1 you will develop the skills necessary for success in an entry-level role. All apprentices gain hands-on experience through placement on a team, receive technical training, and contribute to our mission of empowering financial well-being for customers. In an effort focused on development, apprentices will also receive wrap-around services like coaching, mentoring and workshops intended to help them grow and develop as professionals, learn about career opportunities at Principal, and build their business and financial acumen.

This role is designed to provide a holistic learning experience for motivated individuals who seek to start their corporate career without a required 4-year degree. Assuming successful on the job learning and performance, apprentices typically move into non-apprentice roles after 12 months.

As an Sales Compensation Administrative Associate in our Sales Compensation area, you’ll provide a wide variety of services to marketers, sales offices, business partners, and department personnel. You'll partner with financial professionals and firms, and advocate for the interest of advisors within Principal with a goal of improving producer dedication to the company.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1 year of related experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$18.73 - $21.92 / hour

Time Off Program

Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

This role will start out as a full time, onsite opportunity with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement in the future.
