Randstad US Business Services Specialist, A/R in Des Moines, Iowa

This role requires solid communication and problem solving skills in order to identify and resolve issues preventing customers from paying timely. Seeking a qualified candidate to enter this role with the ability and desire to build upon their skills and grow into higher level roles within the company.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Ensure days sales outstanding (DSO) is minimized and company cash position is maximized by ensuring prompt payment by customers, achieving monthly cash collection goals, and mitigating exposure to bad debt

  • Maintain detailed documentation of events, i.e. conversations, contacts, discrepancies, etc., in the customer database

  • Identify high-risk accounts and escalate to Manager, Collections, as necessary

  • Identify quality issues contributing to delinquent balances and initiate resolution

  • Remove all obstacles preventing prompt payment through customer contact and communication with the sales team

  • Prioritize and maintain assigned portfolio of accounts and projects

  • Work directly with internal and external customers to improve processes, collect cash, and enhance relationships

  • Maintain high level of customer service, internally and externally

  • Develop collaborative relationships with field management to systematically and proactively bring awareness to potential risks

  • Identify process gaps and work with Manager, Accounts Receivable to implement change

Education & Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience in business, is preferred

  • 3+ years in collection experience, or related Credit / Financial experience, primarily from the commercial sector is preferred

  • Exercise considerable discretion in collection activities

  • Benchmark and innovate to ensure departmental efficiency

  • Collaborate with other functional areas, as needed, to maintain productivity and support department and company initiatives

  • A/R account reconciliation experience strongly preferred

  • Strong time management skills

  • PeopleSoft Experience a plus

  • Collaborative with other teams to maintain productivity and support department and company initiatives

  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)

  • Proficient using Google mail, calendaring and shared drives

Pay Rate: $56,700.00 - $40,000.00 Annually

Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Based on eligibility, a successful candidate’s total compensation may include a variable pay plan including bonus(es) and/or commission(s). In setting compensation, Randstad complies with all local wage and hour laws and while the pay range listed above is an annual amount, non-exempt employees will be paid hourly and therefore receive the hourly equivalent..
