Join the DAS Central Procurement, Fleet, and Print Division as a Compliance Officer 2!

Are you ready to make an impact by ensuring the integrity and efficiency of statewide procurement processes? The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Central Procurement, Fleet, and Print Division, located in Des Moines, Iowa, is seeking a dedicated and detail-orientedCompliance Officer 2to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct audits, evaluate financial management processes, and support the state’s procurement compliance efforts within the executive branch of government.

What You'll Do:

As a Compliance Officer 2, you will play a crucial role in ensuring procurement and operational compliance across multiple divisions, including:

  • Conducting financial and management evaluations of procurement processes, such as Master Agreements, emergency and sole source procurements, Targeted Small Businesses, Iowa Prison Industries, service contracts, and more.

  • Auditing GAX payments to confirm compliance with established procurement policies and ensuring that appropriate purchase processes have been followed.

  • Reviewing and analyzing statewide operations for print, fleet, and motor pool services, providing actionable insights for improvements.

  • Performing audits on master agreements to ensure vendor contracts meet all regulatory requirements and organizational goals.

You’ll be a key player in safeguarding procurement integrity and helping the state maintain operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong audit background, ideally with procurement experience, and have the following qualifications:

  • A high level of attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and clearly explain laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Experience conducting audits, analyzing data, and providing recommendations based on findings.

  • A collaborative approach to working with teams across divisions and departments.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

1)Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to five years of full-time work in investigative or closely related work which involved: preparing interpretative or administrative orders, rules, or regulations which have the effect of law; or interpreting and enforcing federal or state laws governing health care administration; or quality assurance review to determine, through internal audit or analysis, the level of compliance with program requirements; or drafting, negotiating, or examining contracts or related documents required for organizational operations.

2) Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field, and experience equal to five years of full-time, professional-level work involving the interpretation and enforcement of federal and state laws or department policies and procedures or quality assurance review as determined through internal audit or analysis of the level of compliance to program requirements.

3) Graduation from accredited school of law and experience equal to two years of full-time work as described in number one or two or in the practice of law.

4) A total of nine years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one, two, or three), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.

5) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to two years of full-time management/supervisory work in the interpretation and enforcement of federal and state laws or department policies and procedures or quality assurance review.

6) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of full-time work as a Compliance Officer 1.
