Director of Broadlawns Foundation 

The Foundation Director reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.  This position is responsible for cultivating donor engagement for the Broadlawns Foundation in support of the Broadlawns Medical Center mission. The Foundation Director will successfully cultivate financial support for the Broadlawns Foundation by securing individual and corporate donors and through applicable sponsorships, g rant oppo rtun ities and in-kind contributions. The Foundation Director will provide oversight for the Broadlawns Foundation Board, BMC Gift Shop and related activities.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

1.  Cultivate awareness, engagement and financial support for the Broadlawns Foundation

2.  Ensure that policies and protocols related to the ongoing operations of the Broadlawns Foundation are compliant with the highest standards of fiscal stewardship.

3. Develop a strategic plan and an actionable approach for achieving the organizational objectives for the Broadlawns Foundation in order to support the programs, services and capital initiatives of the hospital, clinics and programs.

4. Identify applicable grant opportunities and submit compelling project narratives and required documentation.

5. Collaborate with the finance staff to develop the annual budget, review monthly financial reports and submit appropriate data for the required annual reports.

6.  Plan and execute fundraising events to maximize sponsorships and attendance from corporate and individual donors.

7. Manage and maintain the donor database for the Broadlawns Foundation.

8. Process and acknowledge all donations in a timely, efficient and gracious manner.

9. Develop, cultivate and manage relationships with the Broadlawns Foundation Board, corporate and c ommunity partners , individual donors, employees, volunteers, patients and visitors.

10. Coordinate the annual employee giving campaign.

11. Provide oversight for the Foundation Coordinator and Gift Shop Clerk with overall responsibility for the ongoing operations of the Broadlawns Gift Shop operations, vendor events, sales, inventory and reporting.

12.  C oordinate well-written content for grants. the website. brochures, social media and all event-related materials related to the Broadlawns Foundation and volunteer initiatives.

13.  C olla borate with applicable staff to have in-depth knowledge of the projects, services and departments that c an benefit from the Broadlawns Foundation.

14.  Represent organization at external events including frequent night and weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ​​​​​​ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

  • 5 years fundraising and nonprofit engagement experience including experience with event planning and donor engagement activities

  • 2 years of foundation, nonprofit or philanthropic leadership experience

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to navigate multiple projects and effectively accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

  • Experience and proficiency with donor database management platforms

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software

  • Record of accomplishment in donor engagement. community engagement and advocacy experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of foundation, nonprofit or philanthropic leadership experience

  • Healthcare or health-related philanthropic experience

  • Experience managing major gifts
