This role will involve development of orientation processes for all providers (FNPs and PAs) and clinical staff (MAs, EMTs, LPNs, RNs, X-Ray Techs, etc). You'll develop, implement and evaluate clinical education curricula, coordinate clinical placements and training, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. In this hybrid role, you'll split your time working within our clinics and caring for patients, as well as training, precepting, and developing our team members.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Bring innovative, high quality urgent and primary care to patients of all ages in underserved communities. 

  • Perform physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret labs, prescribe medication, provide patient education, and appropriately document all relevant information in EMR. 

  • Perform examinations for workers’ comp, occupational medicine, DOT, sports, wellness, and pre-employment screenings 

  • Work autonomously as a provider and work alongside nurses, x-ray technicians, and front office specialists to provide the best possible patient care. 

  • Provide leadership, direction, and assistance to team members as needed. 

  • Excellent communicator to both patients and staff

  • Works with manager and other operational team members to ensure consistency with medical policy and professional standards. 

  • Develop preceptor program and training for preceptors for all clinical positions.

  • Develop preceptor program and training for preceptors for all clinical positions.

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of clinical education programs through feedback, chart audits, evaluations and outcome measures. 

  • Provide leadership and support to clinical preceptors and instructors 

  • Mentor and train new clinical instructors and staff 

  • Ensure that faculty and staff are informed of current best practices in clinical education 

  • Participate in recruitment, retention, and development initiatives 

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance educational program and improvement of patient care. 

  • Have a least two years of FNP experience

     

Skills and Certifications Required: 

  • Two years of FNP experience

  • Experience treating pediatrics, suturing, DOT physicals 

  • Ability to work independently and autonomously 

  • Active Iowa Nurse Practitioner state license 

  • Active DEA License 

  • DOT Physical Certification 

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS
