Hand Processor II

About the Role:

As a Hand Processor II, you will play a crucial role in the processing and handling of various documents within the organization. You will be responsible for manually sorting, organizing, and preparing documents for further processing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in document management operations. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Sort and organize documents manually according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Prepare documents for scanning, imaging, or digitization by removing staples, paper clips, and other obstructions.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of document batches before processing, ensuring that all required documents are included.
  • Perform quality checks on processed documents to ensure legibility, clarity, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Operate document imaging equipment, such as scanners and microfilm cameras, to capture images or data from documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize and manage document processing tasks effectively, meeting production deadlines and quality targets.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, including the proper storage and disposal of documents and materials.
  • Adhere to security and confidentiality protocols when handling sensitive or confidential documents.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, operational issues, or discrepancies to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Assist with training new employees on document processing procedures and equipment operation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a document processing or similar role required.
  • Proficiency in manual document handling techniques, including sorting, organizing, and preparing documents for scanning or imaging.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document processing tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively to meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling documents and operating equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with document imaging software or systems preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.

Pay Disclosure:

The pay range for this position starts at $18/hr.; however, base salary offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
