The industrial engineer intern position will provide entry level industrial engineering support for both projects and normal workload. Works closely with Industrial Engineers, Quality, Environmental, Continues Improvement and Safety Departments to solve problems by investigating root cause and researching off-the-shelf and custom solutions.

Duties:

  • Collects and analyzes data to find underlying trends in varying types of raw data ranging from production rates, time studies, physical measurements, etc. Communicates those trends to appropriate departments.

  • Create written documentation related to Standard Work Instructions for Production Employees.

  • Assists Industrial Engineers, Quality, Environmental, Safety or Production Departments with small-scale projects such as designing simple fixtures and jigs, identifying proper hand tools or ergonomic assessments.

  • Works closely with Industrial Engineers to prepare drawings, models, and/or technical specifications for the presentation of a project or design to Executive Management.

  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

    Requirements:

  • Pursing a Manufacturing relevant four-year degree including, but not limited to Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other relevant course of study.

  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is required.

  • Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schematic form. High mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete moderate-level mathematical calculations is essential.

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills with various levels within an organization as well as with outside vendors and/or contractors.

  • Must be comfortable gathering information and/or performing and coordinating various tasks and projects in a factory shop floor setting.

  • Problem solving, organizational and PC skills are required.
