Principal Financial Group Investment Manager, Senior Investment Manager or Investment Director, Capital Markets - Commercial Real Estate Private Equity in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

We’re looking for one of three positions - an Investment Manager, Senior Investment Manager or Investment Director, Capital Markets to join our Commercial Real Estate Private Equity Real Estate team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for sourcing, coordinating and implementing secured and unsecured financing arrangements in real estate investments managed by Principal Real Estate Investors!

  • Relationship management of external lending relationships and execution of these financing arrangements

  • Strategy consultant with Portfolio Management in determining the best financing execution for their properties and portfolio

  • Execute the determined financing strategy (including preparation, sourcing, negotiation and documentation of various debt structures).

  • Conduct ongoing research of pricing trends, loan documentation and related developments with lenders and institutional investors

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelors degree or equivalent, with evidence of a strong background in finance, mathematics, economics, or business, and preferably real estate

  • 7 plus years of real estate financing experience including dealing with complex real estate transactions (the various levels we may hire go up from five years required to ten plus)

  • Excellent written communication and listening skills

  • Stellar project management and planning skills, the ability to run effective meetings, and the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

  • Flexible with a professional demeanor including experience meeting with and effectively interacting with others

  • Strong analytical skills with experience reading, interpreting, and understanding contracts and other legal documents

Limited travel, as needed, to markets, to meet with lenders and partners in order to foster and maintain lending relationships and investment partner relationships.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$123000 - $207000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role will be based out of our World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA.

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for in-office or four days in-office and Friday remote. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.

Job Level

We are filling one position with the opportunity to hire at three levels depending on someone's experience. Your experience level will be determined by HR and the leadership team. The compensation range shown covers all three level's base pay in Des Moines.
