Description
TPIis seeking an ambitious leader for the position ofIT Director. This position will oversee a small IT support team for a nationwide company with both on and off-site employees in several states across the country.
The IT Director is responsible for leading the organization’s IT department, ensuring exceptional IT services for employees and clients, and maintaining a high level of professionalism. This role encompasses overseeing IT infrastructure, operations, support, and staff while driving the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of technology systems. The Director will collaborate closely with Senior Management to identify, acquire, and integrate new technologies that align with organizational goals. This position also involves managing IT budgets, supervising IT support staff, maintaining operational excellence, and establishing robust systems to ensure business continuity and scalability across all locations.
Essential Functions
Oversee IT projects and guide IT staff in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex technical problems.
Manage the creation and maintenance of detailed reports to track recurring issues, system performance, and resolutions.
Lead the IT team in maintaining robust cybersecurity measures, including regular virus and spyware updates.
Manage the development and delivery of training sessions and documentation for end users.
Coordinate and manage the implementation of new systems and upgrades/updates for existing technologies.
Develop and maintain an IT Knowledge Base, including system troubleshooting protocols, vendor contacts, and equipment specifications.
Spearhead research on emerging technologies and present findings to Senior Management for evaluation and decision-making.
Act as the escalation point for critical IT failures or complex troubleshooting issues, ensuring timely resolution or engaging third-party support as needed.
Monitor the performance of IT systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software, LAN/WAN networks, and other systems.
Establish protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality IT support across all organizational locations.
Implement quality control measures and continually refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Oversee after-hours and weekend support schedules to address critical IT needs promptly.
Gather and analyze feedback from department managers to evaluate IT support effectiveness and implement improvements.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration on IT initiatives.
Management of IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and third-party IT support consultants for equipment procurement and system upgrades.
Requirements
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Expertise in LAN/WAN networks and IT infrastructure.
Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing demands.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high efficiency.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and on-call work.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
Experience in the direct mail or related industry is a plus.
Physical Demands:This position requires a variation of frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day with occasional bending and squatting to work on equipment. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Continuous vision required for detailed work. Frequent hand/wrist/finger movement for computer tasks.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the schedule varies and requires flexibility to work as needed in the evenings and weekends. Typically, 40 hours per week.
Travel:Occasional travel may be required to support off-site employees and infrastructure needs.
