This is a full-time, exempt level position.
Job Summary:
This position supervises maintenance and contract employees to ensure a reliable and safe Maintenance program for the facility. This position leads a team of approximately 3 full time hourly colleagues. Drives continuous improvement through effective feedback and process documentation. They will take an active role in coaching employees to reach their fullest potential by providing feedback in a manner that is effective, consistent and fair. Leads maintenance technicians to ensure quality work is completed safely and efficiently.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervises the day to day activities of maintenance technicians.
Insures that all safety and GMP rules are being followed while work is being performed
Coaches employees in the areas of job performance, attendance, safety and other related appraisal criteria
Maintain records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance information
Monitor work accomplished for quantity, quality, safe work practices, and GMPs against accepted department and company standards
Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
Other similar duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Must be able to establish expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service and productivity
Good decision making ability and problem solving skills
Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
Demonstrated supervisory, leadership experience and ability to work in a team environment
Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability
Education/Training:
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, engineering degree, or apprentice training
Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation related field is preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
Strong demonstrated expertise in either mechanical maintenance, with in-depth exposure to the other areas (packaging, automation, hydraulics)
Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred
Leads the Operation of the Plant to maintain personnel and process safety:
Maintains an environment in which personal safety is the top priority
Ensures the team works safe and the department maintains compliance of all health and safety regulations
Ensures the operation of the site is carried out with all regulatory permits, laws & regulations and best practices
Aligns department goals with site goals and communicates the direction and priorities to the department leveraging a structured management system.
Coordinates operation of the plant to insure adherence to established product, environmental, safety, housekeeping & quality guidelines set by the company
Demonstrates ADM Core Values in decision making and actions.
Collaborates with work groups across the organization to develop a strategic vision for the department that is put into action through the department deployment plan.
Supports Quality and the Food Safety Management Systems, may be a member of the Food Safety Team
Acts as a key stakeholder to the plant leadership team.
Models the way of the Performance Excellence Journey:
Leads and Coaches the team to leverage continuous improvement tools to achieve department and plant KPI's.
Conducts Daily Review and Response and works closely with the Plant manager and steering team to adjust and adapt and to escalate situations that arise
Ensures that deviations from KPIs and incidents are driven to Root Cause elimination by team
Demonstrate commitment to improving safety, processes and efficiency of the plant by delivering the department deployment plan in both ‘what’ (metrics) and ‘how’ (means).
Work in collaboration with Centers of Excellence to improve technology and reliability of the operations.
Is an Effective Communicator:
Demonstrate strong communication skills in both face to face and written communication.
Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and procedures
Performs Colleague Performance Reviews and meets with Colleagues on a regular basis to review goals and individual development plans
Collaborates with HR to manage performance of department Colleagues
Takes on additional roles and responsibilities to continually develop self-and/or other teams
Job Requirements:
Prior experience leading / supervising people.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience) and 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated self-starter and able to self-monitor with minimal oversight.
Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by leadership.
The ability to provide motivation to the direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel.
Demonstrated decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Computer skills and capability with Microsoft Products
Applicant must be able to work in all types of climates both inside and out including extreme hot and cold temperatures, noisy environments, heights, dusty environments, all of which require use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Ability to climb stairs, access ladders, catwalks and elevated working platforms across all hours of shift working time. Job also requires some lifting, sit and stand for long periods of time, work with heights, bending, kneeling and respirator qualified.
