Description

We are urgently seeking a Temporary Medical Receptionist in the Des Moines area to manage the reception area for a short-term period. The ideal candidate should have a friendly demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle various administrative tasks. The candidate should also have great communication skills over the phone.

Job description includes:

  • Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in, and obtain necessary personal, medical, and insurance information.

  • Answer incoming calls, manage appointment scheduling, and handle patient queries.

  • Maintain the waiting area, ensuring it is kept neat and clean.

  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimal waiting time.

  • Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits.

  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations.

  • Support medical staff as needed with administrative tasks.

  • Accurately record and update patient information in the clinic's database.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical office setting is highly preferable.

  • Familiarity with office equipment and multi-line phone systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult customers diplomatically.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
