Principal Financial Group Product Manager 2 in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

Join our Benefits and Protection Data & Analytics team as a Product Manager. Engage with business partners in our Distribution organization to understand their data needs, drive strategic plans, and make a significant impact.

Your day could look like:

  • Define and manage a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with Enterprise, Distribution, and Data & Analytics strategy.

  • Lead discovery efforts in partnership with the Analytics and Engineering teams to understand business objectives and find opportunities to deliver flawless solutions.

  • Prioritize features for data management and analytics solutions.

  • Develop and articulate hypotheses, leading the product team - including design, engineering, and Distribution-focused business roles - in ideation and experimentation.

  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering partners across portfolios to ensure aligned outcomes and to manage dependencies.

  • Assess product health using metrics and partner engagement to continuously improve Data and Analytics products.

  • Foster positive relationships with Analytics Consulting and Distribution business partners to represent their needs. Cultivate their support and actively involve them to ensure success.

  • Champion a mentality and approach that prioritizes product development and problem-solving within the Data and Analytics industry. Identify areas for enhancing product management practices and take consistent action to drive improvement.

Who You Are

  • You have 4+ years of Product Management experience in a Data & Analytics organization; or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or education.

  • You have collaborated with collaborators to identify opportunities for delivering impactful analytics to their business. You have also partnered with Analytics and Engineering teams to implement effective solutions for those needs.

  • Quickly find important statistics and metrics for business partners, using them to support crafting Data & Analytics product strategy and roadmap.

  • You have demonstrated experience leading, influencing, and negotiating in a product environment.

  • You are curious, open-minded, and motivated, comfortable operating in complex and highly ambiguous environments.

Skills that will help you stand out:

  • Understanding of Insurance Distribution channels and related analytics and data needs.

  • Knowledge of SQL, AWS, Snowflake, and PowerBI.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$112000 - $152000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
