Monday - Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pay: $18 per hour Climate Controlled Facility! Paid Weekly. This position must be able to lead, direct and train a team of production employees to complete work according to specific instructions. Responsible for testing equipment, product, inspecting materials, work in process, final product, and accurately recording the findings according to procedures, instructions, engineering drawings, and training. Must evaluate rejects and product defects and make decisions regarding the status of the product based on the inspection criteria. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead a team of people by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and communication.

  • Lead employees and provide direction to complete required inspection and/or testing operations.

  • Follow applicable procedures, instructions, engineering drawings, and training.

  • Train employees according to departmental training requirements.

  • Monitor employees in their jobs and assist as necessary.

  • Answer employee questions involved with the inspection and/or testing process.

  • Interface with supervision and/or management to ensure quality rejects and/or problems are brought to the attention of responsible personnel. This may include interfacing with employees in other departments.

  • Test and/or inspect the quality of the raw materials and work in process in a timely manner according to established written Quality Department procedures, engineering drawings, and documentation. This includes critical inspection items that may affect the function of the product.

  • Work as an effective member of the team.

  • Identify non-conforming product, as necessary.

  • Complete all documents and records required.

  • Fill-in and work as an effective member of the team as an Inspector or Lab Technician

  • Keep work areas clean, organized and well maintained.

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

    AUTHORITY

  • Assign employees to scheduled jobs in the respective area.

  • Request necessary supplies and resources required to complete the jobs assigned.

  • Accept product within specification.

  • Interface with other departments to ensure all quality rejects and/or problems are brought to the attention of responsible personnel.

  • Suggest improved or alternative methods of inspecting and/or testing product.

    Experience and Skills:

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Able to correctly inspect and test product according to instructions, engineering drawings, and training.

  • Able to correctly use required tools, fixtures, rulers, testing equipment, etc. involved in the testing and inspection processes.

  • Able to read and understand the product criteria on engineering drawings.

  • Able to recognize quality problems with equipment, materials, work in process, and final product, and to inspect for critical items that may affect the function of the product.

  • Able to inspect product and perform all other required duties in a timely manner as outlined by department supervision and management.

  • Able to lead and influence others by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and communication.

  • Able to direct and train employees.

  • Able to work and communicate well with others.

  • Able to supervise multiple inspections and/or testing jobs simultaneously.

  • Able to complete necessary documents and records as required.

  • Able to read and write English.

  • Good work attendance and dependability.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Must be able to complete a position assessment test.

A Quality Lead assigned to the Receiving Inspection area must frequently lift and/or exert force from 25 up to 75 pounds. Push and/or pull up to 300 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

May either sit at a workstation to inspect product, or may be required to move around while inspecting (i.e. incoming inspection, shipping, etc.)
